85th STEINWAY & SONS International Youth Piano Competition
The highly acclaimed STEINWAY & SONS International Youth Piano Competition is now open for registration! As usual, the competition consists of professional class and amateur class, and Amateur Elementary groups were newly introduced this year, specially for age 3-4 and 5-6 respectively.
PRIZES AND RECOGNITION
Professional Group
Winners of Professional Group A and B will compete for the "Professional Special Prize" and the prize-winner will be invited to participate in the "International STEINWAY Festival" to be held next year in Germany.
The First Prize winner of Professional Group C will be awarded an ESSEX EGP-155C EP piano designed by Steinway & Sons, and will also be invited to give a concert at Horowitz Concert Hall at the Steinway Hall, and have an opportunity to be promoted on the official platform of STEINWAY & SONS.
Amateur Group
One “Amateur Special Prize” will be selected from the First Prize winners of Amateur Group A, B and C, and the prize-winner will be awarded an ESSEX EUP-123E EP piano designed by STEINWAY & SONS.
The Competition will be held in Macau, Beijing, Changchun, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Chuzhou, Dalian, Dongguan, Dongtai, Foshan, Fuyang, Guangzhou, Harbin, Haikou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Hengshui, Huaian, Jinan, Jiangyin, Kunshan, Lianyungang, Nanjing, Nantong, Ningbo, Qingdao, Shantou, Shanghai, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Shijiazhuang, Suzhou, Taiyuan, Tangshan, Wuhan, Wuxi, Hong Kong, Xi’an, Xuzhou, Yancheng, Yangzhou, Yixing, Zhangjiagang, Zhengzhou, Zhongshan, Zhuhai from July, 2021 to March 2022 in China. It is organized by Steinway Piano Asia Pacific Co., Ltd.
13 award-winning contestants who appeared in the Steinway International Festival Performance Competition from around the world gathered in the 18th Steinway International Art Competition.

STEINWAY & SONS International Youth Piano Competition is a talent showcase for young piano prodigies all over the world. The ultimate aim of the competition is to promote piano education and nourish promising musicians. By participating in public competitions of such international standard, young pianists are led to discover the beauty in music as well as themselves.
The first STEINWAY & SONS International Youth Piano Competition China Regional Competition was held in Beijing in 2002. A remarkable opportunity for young pianists to gain musical experiences as well as to enhance and promote piano music in China into a new era.
